February 24, 2008
Today Shadowsintheforce.com had major updates--ones I have been wanting to make for some time. These updates are the first of many toward a revised SITF. Today we added pictures from "Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination" at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, PA as well as photos from Reading Royals hockey games. Also, each site was updated on the server which will prepare the site for future updates.
This was a busy week for me. Things at work are busy but good and lots of good things are happening there. Unfortunately we got snow on Friday so I didn't get to the Royals game Friday night. After work I grabbed pizza and ice cream (I know not very healthy) and came home and finished watching Supernatural Season 1 on DVD. At some point I fell asleep for about two hours. After waking up, I stayed up late on Friday chatting and posting. The bad part of that was that I had to be up by 5:30 AM to be get ready for my trip. My mom had asked me to visit the Franklin Institute because she was interested in seeing the Star Wars exhibit. We took a tour lines bus trip down. As we boarded the hostess informed us that they didn't have all of the tickets but that they were ordered and would be available at the Institute. On the drive down I read the comics "Supernatural Origins". #1 - #6 came out in late 2007 so I bought them off ebay and read them (I'll post my reviews on the forthcoming Supernatural page here at SITF).
When we arrived at the Institute the hostess told us that while she got our tickets and wrist bands for inside the institute that they didn't get us tickets for the Millennium Falcon experience because they were "sold out". I was a bit annoyed but didn't show it since this was the only attraction I didn't get a chance to see when I was down previously. The hostess talked to the other members of the tour and there were a few people who didn't want to see the Falcon experience so she got us those tickets. So we saw the exhibit then waited an hour for the Falcon which was ok but seriously not worth an hour wait. I'm glad I saw it but wouldn't do it again. We then ate an over-priced lunch in "Ben's Bistro" in the Institute and then we went through the rest of the Institute including seeing 2 planetarium shows including one called "Far, Far Away" which was narrated by Anthony Daniels. This show talked about worlds in the Star Wars universe and how they are similar to planets in this galaxy as well as how Earth has looked over its evolution.
We then traveled home which I slept on the bus ride home. Then got online a bit but then slept from 7 PM to 12:30 AM. I was then up until 5:00 AM. During that time I chatted and posted, etc. From there I slept until mid morning and was refreshed. So far today I am chilling at home, working on the website, watching tv, etc.
That's pretty much it for now. Stay tuned for updates!
